(Atlanta, Georgia (GA), USA)

The spreading city of Atlanta is encircled by the busy Interstate 285 freeway, which is known locally as the 'Perimeter'. Within this ring road, a number of further interstates provide fast access to points around central Atlanta, with the main north / south thoroughfares being both Piedmont Street and Peachtree Street.

To the southwest of downtown Atlanta you will find Hartsfield Jackson Airport (ATL). This airport is connected to the city center by the I-75 (James Wendell George Parkway) and is an important regional transport hub and also a major international gateway. With roughly 85 million passengers annually, Hartsfield Airport is the busiest airport on the whole planet, in overall terms of traffic.

During the week, much of downtown Atlanta is busy with visitors with business agendas and this area changes dramatically at the weekend. Full of dramatic skyscrapers and showy glass-clad buildings, downtown Atlanta contains a number of world-class attractions. Several important universities and colleges can be found around Atlanta, such as Emory University on South Oxford Road NE, and the Georgia State University in the heart of the downtown district.

Highlights include the Centennial Olympic Park, which stands on the western side of the city and is close to the CNN Center, and the World of Coca-Cola, along the Martin Luther Junior Drive.
